One-on-One Threshold Sessions

when life is asking something of you

This is a space for you and me. One-to-one presence.

A place to sit together, breathe, and listen to what is asking for attention — without fixing, diagnosing, or rushing toward resolution.

Each session is guided by what’s present rather than a predetermined method. Conversation may unfold. Silence may arise. Sometimes there is laughter. Sometimes grief. Often, both.

You don’t need to prepare.
You don’t need the right words.
You only need to arrive.

A Threshold Session is a spacious, one-on-one experience for moments when life is asking something of you—after a loss, before a decision, in the midst of change, or when the old way no longer fits and the next has not yet revealed itself. This is not coaching or therapy. It is a guided pause at the doorway between what was and what is becoming.

Each Threshold Session is unique, shaped by your story, your timing, and what wants to be witnessed in that moment. You leave not with answers imposed from the outside, but with a deeper sense of orientation—grounded in yourself and accompanied as you cross into what’s next.

Threshold Session

A one-to-one space to honor a crossing.

Threshold Sessions are for moments that feel clearly marked — even if they don’t yet have language. A decision made. A season ending. A truth acknowledged. A line crossed that cannot be uncrossed.

This is not about figuring out whether something is happening.
It’s about honoring that it is.

Threshold Sessions create space to recognize, witness, and integrate a transition that has already arrived — without rushing it, explaining it away, or minimizing its impact.

You don’t need to know what you’re seeking in order to begin.

    • Length: 75 minutes
Threshold work needs time — for arrival, honoring, and integration.

    • Exchange: $195

    • Location: In person at House of Breath Sanctuary, Naples, Maine
(Virtual sessions may be available by request.)

    • Confidentiality: Sessions are private and held in confidence

  • Each Breath Session is held one-to-one and unfolds at a human pace.

    Arrival & Orientation
We begin by settling into the space together. You may arrive with clarity, emotion, uncertainty, or quiet knowing. There is no expectation to perform, explain, or justify what you’re carrying.

    Honoring the Threshold
Threshold Sessions may include conversation, silence, reflection, symbolic or ritual elements, and gentle somatic awareness — always guided by what feels appropriate and grounded for you.

This work is not ceremonial for ceremony’s sake.
It is intentional, human, and responsive to what is present.

    Integration & Grounding
Rather than catharsis, the emphasis is on integration.
We take time to notice what has shifted, what wants acknowledgment, and how you will re-enter your life carrying this crossing with steadiness rather than fragmentation.

    Closing
Sessions end with care — so you leave feeling oriented, intact, and supported in carrying what has been honored forward.

  • A Threshold Session may be helpful if you are:

    • Navigating grief, loss, or life after loss

    • Moving through a major transition (identity, relationship, work, health, season of life)

    • Standing between what was and what comes next

    • Letting go of something meaningful

    • Integrating a profound realization or life event

    • Feeling emotionally steady but deeply changed

This work honors the reality that some moments cannot be rushed or reduced — they need to be met.

This work is especially supportive for people who are functioning in their lives, but sense that something beneath the surface needs attention.

This may not be the right fit if you:

    • Are looking for therapy, diagnosis, or clinical treatment

    • Want structured coaching, goal plans, or directives

    • Are in acute crisis and need immediate or medical support

    • Prefer a highly defined method or technique

    • Want someone to tell you what to do

Breath Sessions are not about fixing or directing — they are about creating a steady, human space where insight and next steps can emerge naturally.

    If you’re unsure

You don’t need to know exactly what you need before coming.

    If you’re asking yourself:

“I’m not broken, but something feels unfinished.”

    —or—

“I just want a place to land for a moment.”

    that curiosity is often enough.

  • Is this therapy or counseling?
No. Threshold Sessions are not therapy and do not involve diagnosis, treatment plans, or clinical intervention. They offer grounded, human support to acknowledge and integrate a life transition that is already underway.

Is this coaching? Will I get advice or action steps?
This is not coaching. Advice and directives are not the focus. Threshold Sessions are about honoring and integrating a crossing — not being told what to do next. You remain the authority on your own decisions and timing.

Do I need to prepare or know exactly what I want to work on?
No preparation is required. Many people arrive simply knowing that something has shifted. Clarity is not a prerequisite — presence is enough.

    What if I get emotional?
Emotion is welcome, but never forced. Threshold Sessions are held with care and containment, with an emphasis on grounding and integration rather than release or catharsis. The intention is to leave feeling oriented, not undone.

Will there be ritual or ceremony?
Threshold Sessions may include simple symbolic or ritual elements when appropriate, but nothing is prescribed or performative. Any ceremonial aspect is grounded, optional, and responsive — never dramatic or required.

Will there be touch or body-based work?
Threshold Sessions are primarily conversational and presence-based. Somatic or embodied elements may be included only when appropriate and always with explicit consent. There is never a need to remove any clothing.

    What if I’m not “spiritual”?
That’s completely fine. Threshold Sessions do not require any beliefs, spiritual language, or worldview. This work is human, not doctrinal.

How often do people book Threshold Sessions?
Many people come for a single session to mark a specific crossing. Others return during periods of significant life transition. There is no expectation of ongoing work or commitment.

    Why are sessions 90 minutes?
Threshold work benefits from spaciousness. This length allows time to arrive, honor what has shifted, and integrate before returning to daily life — without rushing the crossing.

What about working with children or teens?
One-to-one Threshold Sessions are offered for adults. Support for children or teens is considered on a case-by-case basis, with clear parental involvement and consent.
